Follow the notice below, Better using your OLYMPUS AZ-2 battery
- Battery Storage - If you don't use the OLYMPUS AZ-2 battery for a long period, store it in a clean, dry, cool place away from heat and metal objects. The batteries will self-discharge during storage; remember stored at about 40% state-of-charge.
- Exercise Your Battery - Do not leave your battery dormant for long periods of time. We recommend using the battery at least once every two to three weeks. If a battery has not been used for a long period of time, perform the new battery break in procedure described above.
- Keep Your OLYMPUS AZ-2 Batteries Clean - It's a good idea to clean dirty battery contacts with a soft,clean and dry cloth. This helps maintain a good connection between the battery and your portable device.
- Breaking In New Batteries - new OLYMPUS AZ-2 batteries come in a discharged condition and must be fully charged before use. It is recommended that you fully charge and discharge your new battery two to four times to allow it to reach its maximum rated capacity.
- Do not short-circuit. A short-circuit may cause severe damage to the AZ-2 battery.
- It is normal for a battery to become hot during charging and discharging.
- Most battery can be fully charged in about 3 hours so do not leave a battery in a charger for a long time. Do not charged to higher voltages than its threshold voltage
- Do not drop, hit or otherwise abuse the OLYMPUS AZ-2 battery as this may result in the exposure of the cell contents, which are corrosive.
